* Bunny is scared she's in trouble cuz she's done something wrong and 
hopes they forgive her for taking the horn because it was for a good 
reason and was just trying to HELP!

<ST> Those who touch the stag hear this.  "I cannot carry you all.  
Will you let me cast a wee enchantment on you?"

<Garland> [People can touch him too, y'know.  To compare.]

<Kenken> [*butt pinches Garland*, OOCly]

<Garland> "Ah... sure?"

<Ishu> "Of course."

<Kenken> "Um, you know what the horn does to some spells, right? I 
mean, I'm sure you do, just."

* Ishu suddenly looks a bit more worried and casts a glance to KenKen

<Kenken> [Only it's not the horn.]

<Kenken> [It's the *brooch*. :D]

<Kenken> [<---pooka]

<ST> "I am confused," says the stag in your mind, except of course KK 
doesn't have one, we've just discovered.  :)

<Flora> [She knew that!  She was just testing.]

* Garland also glances to KK, brow furrowing at his words.

<Kenken> [/me whistles. Innocently. And flees for the border]

<Kenken> "Is the cantrip a wayfare?"

<ST> "Why, yes."

<ST> [stag]

<Kenken> "Um, then can you *not* cast it on me? I just *got* here."

<ST> "Is there a problem?" -- again the stag.

<ST> [stag]  "I am the king of this forest.  Only Herne knows more 
than I, here."

<Kenken> "Yeah, I got this magical item I can't afford to lose, see, 
but I can't afford to SHOW it either, and if wayfare is cast when 
it's not shown, I end up somewhere really unsafe."

* Bunny gasps. "You're a king?! I'm sorry if I was disrespectful to 
you in any way, sir lord king type sir!"

<ST> I did not mind, childling.  It is long since I was offered a 
berry by anyone.  You are very sweet.

<ST> [all the stag, sorry]

* Ishu smiles

* Garland is paying to much attention to whatever KK's saying to note 
the sheer cuteness.

* Bunny will be very careful to be much more respectful now.

<ST> "Well, pooka, if you do not wish the enchantment, you will have 
to ride."

<ST> [heheh]

<Flora> Oh, that was what this was all about.  Ken Ken wants to be 
the rider!!

<Kenken> "It's not that I want to be disrespectful to m'lord stag, 
but it's not that I want but that I oughter."

* Garland makes groaning noise at that.

<Flora> Ouch!

<Garland> "Can we please just get going?"

* Ishu nods

<Ishu> "Um... where are we going, exactly?"

<ST> "Fine, fine, daughter. Otter, on my back."  He buckles his front 
knees to make it easier.

<Flora> Where are we going?  Silly question, I know, but what arewe 
going to do now?

* Kenken clambers up. "Thank you!"

* Bunny tries to scoot up so there's room. As if Bunny takes up so 
much room that she NEEDS to.

<ST> "You are welcome.  Hold on to the childling carefully, please.  
I don't want you falling off, either of you.  Where are we going?  
Why, we're off to see the wizard!"

<Flora> Oh.

* Kenken wraps his arms around Bunny obligingly.

<Flora> Not, Oz, I presume?

<ST> "Someone said that to me once.  In a singing way.  I seldom hear 
jokes or make them.  Was that a good one?"

* Bunny wows. A wizard! ...She's on a stag with *KENKEN!* ... Bunny 
goes into starry-eyed hero worship for a moment before remembering to 
hold on to the stag.

<Ishu> "It was great. ;) "

<Kenken> "Wonderful, m'lord stag!"

<Flora> It helps if we understand the reality for which this was a 
twist.

<ST> "This is reality, kinain."

<Flora> That's how plays on words work.

<ST> "Plays on words?  That sounds.... difficult."

<Flora> It's a skill that can be developed, but works best with some 
talent to begin with.

<ST> "We are actually going to travel a great distance, but we must 
begin at the Island."

<Kenken> "Flora? Ixnay on the upidstay."

<Flora> Ken Ken, why are you telling me not to be stupid?  I'm just 
answering the Stag's question honestly.

<Ishu> "Ooookay... island... let's just get to the island. ^^;;"

<Ishu> "We need to walk to the Island, right, and then Wayfarer it?"

<ST> [The stag closes its eyes, flicks its ears, shakes its head, and 
all unhappiness, all uncertainty, all anxiety, leaves you.  Those who 
are not riding find themselves floating higher and higher.  They 
could actually lose themselves in the clouds if they don't do 
something fast.]

<Garland> [gah!]

* Flora grabs a hunk of stag hair and holds tight

* Garland grabs for Stag also!

* Kenken holds tight to Bunny!

* Ishu holds onto the stag

<ST> [actually the stag seems to be trying to help you.]

<ST> [the mists part.  The sky is below you.  The ground is above.  
Stamina + dexterity rolls for KK and Bunny, please, difficulty 6.

<Bunny> [2 sucesses. One was a ten... does that mean anything?]

<ST> Do you have any specialties in dexterity?

<Bunny> [Specialties?]

<ST> You have dex 4, so you could have a specialty, which means when 
you roll a ten in that area you get to roll that die again to see if 
you get another success.  Some dex specialties are side-stepping, ...

<Bunny> [.. Don't think so, don't have anything marked as a 
specialty, anyways.]

<Bunny> [Um, steady hand, then?]

<ST> Okay, so steady hand it is.  You needed two successes to stay on 
the stag which is upside down in the sky and not happy about it.  
Ken-Ken, roll again to see if you fall off or if your hold on Bunny 
helps you stay on.

<ST> You can use your strength instead of stamina if it is better.

<Kenken> [fail! *shakes fist at 1s*]

* Ishu puts his hand on the umbrella in his pack

<ST> KK is falling rapidly, upside down.  Bunny roll dex + strength 
or stamina to see if he pulls you with him.  Difficulty is 7.

<Ishu> [does he go up to the ground or down to the sky? weirdness!]

<ST> That's the dreaming for you.

<Bunny> [... Any way Bunny could try to hold on to him AND the stag? 
... [was gonna have bunny TRY to grab on to Kenken to keep him from 
falling. Yes, realizes this is stupid. Notes that in Bunnymind it 
makes sense, though.]]

<Flora> [Quick!  Light his tail as he streaks by so we can follow 
where he goes!]

* Ishu pulls out the umbrella (if possible without losing his grip), 
but doesn't open it yet.

<ST> It's okay Bunny because one hand may be enough to hold you on, 
seeing as you have steady hand and the best grip on the stag.  Please 
do my roll first, though.

<Bunny> [............daaaaaymn. I am never saying anything bad about 
my dice again o.o 4 sucesses. THREE OF THEM 10s.... [watches Bunny 
roll all 1s next time and die a horrible firey death x_x;;]

or more of them.

<Flora> [Bunny: I am not WITH the Stag, I AM the STAG!]

in the case of an accident she becomes 'part' of the stag and will 
not go flying through the windshield.]

<ST> Oh, you mean KK.  He's down THErrrrre.

<Bunny> [Can she make the roll to try and grab him now? ^.^;;]

* Ishu goes for the KK grab as well

<Flora> [If an otter falls to ground, and noone is there to hear, 
does he still make a SPLUT?]

<Bunny> [We'll soon find out!]

<ST> Kay.  ST decision.  Bunny is too little to reach KK without a 
miracle, and too weak to hold his weight.  Sorry.  

<ST> However, Ishu is on his own and usually at the right place at 
the right time with the right stuff.  I'm rollin...

<Flora> [Mary Poppins to the rescue?]

* Bunny reaches for him anyway. "KENKEN SIR!" but is too small to 
reach the flying otter.

* Kenken wraps limbs around Ishu.

* Garland is ready to grab onto Ishu too if needed.

<ST> The umbrella opens.

* Flora grabs Garlnad to help steady him

* Ishu starts to streamline, hoping Garland makes the catch at the

* ST is still laughing way way hard. Umbrella has fallen steadily, 
caught a drift of wind, and is floating serenely.

<Garland> [At least we're dying like we lived.  Upside down on a 
giant magic stag.]

<Bunny> [/me doesn't get it. ... Then does, and giggles like she's 
12, too.]

<ST> OH, Garland, you got that rope.  You are GLUED to that rope.

* Ishu starts repeating "Superkalafragalisticexpialadocious" like 
it's a mantra

<ST> Rolling on the floor.

* Kenken flails limbs helplessly!

<Ishu> [Uuum... you said the umbrella broke, and he'd been holding 
the handle. I assume the top of the umbrella floated one way, and KK 
started hurtling the other, leaving Ishu with an empty hand.]

<Ishu> [The hand that had been holding the stag is now holding the 
rope]

<Ishu> [He's streamlined and trying to reach KK with the spare arm as 
he falls!]

* Bunny ... cries. It's hard, when you can't do anything to help.

<ST> But the handle was around KK's neck.

* Kenken reaches up, kicking the air with his feet in the hope that 
that will help him go UPWARD.

<Ishu> [But then Ishu would have still been holding him.... o_O]

<Flora> [So Ishu has something solid to grab!]

<Kenken> [Bottom part of the handle and I DON'T WANT A BROKEN NECK

<Ishu> [Great. Goes for the handle! Or KK's hand! Whatever he can

<ST> [Feel like you're walking on air, KK?]

* Kenken attempts to remove the handle from his neck before replying.

<ST> I mean, chance does exist.  So does good luck.  If you wish upon 
a star, makes no difference who you are, this is the Dreaming and so 
all is seeming WELL, for KEEENNNN KEEENNN.

* Ishu thinks about it, then looks at the rope he's holding with a 
look of fear

<Flora> Wow!  Holy Wow!!!

<Ishu> "Okay... so... KenKen..."

<Ishu> "Can you get back to us in that thing?"

<ST> [I was waiting for that, Flora.  Yes, the stag is flying upside 
down.  No wings.]

* Kenken ....gets out his own chimerical rope. "So, if I throw this 
and ask you to reel me in, how likely is it I'll accidentally pull 
you off your rope and send us both to our deaths?"

<Flora> Um. Sir Stag, are we supposed to be up here like this?

<Garland> "I can handle both of you, don't worry!"

<Ishu> "The way our luck's going today? ;) "

<ST> "No.  I don't understand it.  I am very displeased.  But the 
singing was nice."

<Ishu> "Sure, give it a toss. Can't get any worse, right?"

<Flora> [Aaaahhhhhh! ]

<Bunny> [Famous last words]

<Ishu> "You're floating, and the rope's not heavy enough to make a 
difference. Don't think so, anyways."

<ST> {The chimerical rope will only move chimerical things.  You are 
all real bodies.  But the umbrella is chimerical.]

* Bunny quiets the crying. Somewhat. Is still sniffly and whimpery.

<Ishu> [So he should tie it to the umbrella, then throw us the other 
end.]

<Ishu> [Right?]

<Flora> [The rope's weight was already inplay]

<Ishu> "Try tying it to what's left of the handle and give it a toss, 
KenKen!"

<Ishu> "... and sing."

<Ishu> "I find the singing usually helps. ^^;; "

* Ishu looks kind of relaxed, enjoying the ride through the sky on 
his rope. :)

* Kenken ties it, shrugs, and begins singing the 'dreamcoat' song 
from Joseph. "Iiiiiit was red and yellow and green and brown and 
scarlet and ocre and ruby and gold...."

* Kenken attempts to throw it! Has rope use, among other things.

* Ishu nods approvingly

* Kenken begins inventing colours when he forgets the words.

* Garland shouts out the correct colours.

* Ishu laughs cheerfully

* Ishu breathes another sigh of relief!

umbrella, utterly dependant on the rest of you, so."

<Ishu> "So someone /is/ interfering?"

<Ishu> "Any suggestions are welcome, KenKen!" he calls down

<Bunny> "There's a leaf?"

<ST> [stag]  "A leaf.  You must get it.  The childling. But they're 
trying to stop me."

<Flora> "Yes, one of my visions, but right now I think the Stag is 
being attacked!"

<Bunny> "Oh no! Um... I can distract them! Or something! Is there

<Ishu> [Would we know anything about what's being used against the 
Stag?]

<ST> "The White Cold Ones.  Oh, here we go a waffling among the 
leaves so greeen..."

<Flora> "Is there anything you guys can do to help the Stag focus?"

<Ishu> "I don't know mind magic..."

<ST> [Suddenly you all drop like stones.]

<Ishu> "Someone grab Bunny!"

<Kenken> "AUGH!"

<ST> Into the umbrella.

<Kenken> "BUNNY, BLOW THE HORN! ...I HAVE NO IDEA IF THAT'LL HELP!"

* Garland also swears loudly!

<ST> The Stag is hanging in the air.  It looks as if it simply has 
forgotten what it is here for.

<Ishu> "I'm going with the horn plan too!]

* Bunny doesn't understand, but also doesn't argue! Blows the horn 
with all her tiny might!

<ST> The stag shakes his head, and looks down at the five of you, his 
eyes sorrowful.  "Please be careful.  Please."

<ST> And then the Stag disappears.

<Ishu> "Which way to the wiz -"

* Ishu *thunks* head down

<Garland> "For the love of..."

* Bunny sniffles. Then EEKS as she's suddenly in mid-air!

* Ishu scans the whole of their ship

<ST> And slowly, slowly, the umbrella begins to descend.

<Ishu> [Does it look like it's going to keep falling slowly?]

<ST> [Sorry for any confusion.  You ALL fell into the umbrella, even 
Bunny.]

* Kenken is still in the umbrella. Holds onto what remains of the 
'handle'!

<Garland> "I'll try and do that too, yes," He nods.

<Ishu> "Think you've got a fan for life, Flora. ;) "

<ST> [It seems you are safest where you are.  A song might help.]

<Ishu> "Rub-a-dub-dub, four Changelings + one in a tub..."

<Ishu> "Make that, a kithain... *muses*"

* Garland arches an eyebrow at Ishu's song, then laughs.

<ST> [kinain]

<Ishu> [I was close. ^^;; ]

* Bunny cries and cries- .... and then realizes she's in the umbrella 
and quiets as crisis is averted.

* Ishu stands up, a bit wobbly, and scans the horizon

* Ishu remains sitting, but tries to see where they're falling to.

<Kenken> "Mayyybe do you think moving is not a great idea?"

<Ishu> "It would help if we knew what was below, though..."

<ST> [Given the size of this umbrella, you can see out only if you 
crawl upward to the edge.]

* Ishu peers

<Ishu> "Okay... well... Everyone okay? Mostly intact?"

* Bunny is staying right where she fell in the umbrella. Looks around 
to make sure everyone is there. Then checks to see if she still has 
the berries.

<Garland> "I am.  ... Flora seems to be, but I can check to make sure 
too."

<ST> While we wait, does anyone know "I've been working on the rail-
road, all the livelong day...

<Ishu> "I've been working on the railroad, passing the time away..."

<Flora> "Sheesh, how many hands do you have, Garland?"

<Ishu> "Don't ask, he might show you. ;) "

* Garland sings along.

<ST> You three!  Childlings present!

<Ishu> "Two. He has two hands. ^^;;" *glances, embarrassed, at Bunny*

<Ishu> "So we have us, a broken umbrella, and a land of unknown 
adventure."

<ST> [So now you're on the line, "Don't you hear the whistle blowing?  
Rise up so early in the morn..."

* Bunny is looking at them, eyes wide at the exchange. Listening to 
every word! As children always are when you least want them to.

<ST> [Does anybody know the next line?]

<Ishu> "Can't you hear the whistle blowing, Dinah blow your horn!!!"

<Ishu> [... unbeknownst to his friends, Ishu's mind is secretly 
connected to the WWW... ^^;; ]

* Bunny says, quietly, "My name is Bunny. Not Dinah."

* Ishu whispers back "Good point..."

<Ishu> "All together, then, guys?"

<Flora> "...BUnny blow your horn!"

<Ishu> "Bunny blows your horn!"

* Garland joins in again!

<ST> What does Bunny do?

* Bunny is about to, but then squeaks again! "But the horn isn't mine 
it's Kenken's I was just holding it for him til I could give it back 
when it was safe and it is!"

* Bunny holds out the horn to Kenken.

* Kenken shakes his head. "You got it fair and square!"

<Ishu> "The Stag called you the Horn Bearer, Bunny."

<Bunny> "...but I was just holding it at the time..."

<Flora> "Oh my God!  I just realized where we are floating down!  
Don't we have to stay on one of those silver paths?  Or be lost 
forever?"

<Ishu> "I think I can get us to the Wizard."

<Ishu> "But a Silver Path would definately help."

<Kenken> "We have an Eshu with us!"

* Ishu looks a bit embarrassed

<Flora> "So?"

<Kenken> "Bunny, you can use the horn right, right? Right!"

<ST> It is suddenly very, very cold.  You know how you can smell 
snow, sometimes?  This is one of those times.  You also can smell 
rotting evergreens.  

<Ishu> "Not...."

* Ishu ignores Flora for a moment, and looks worried

<Garland> "... what is it??"

<Ishu> "Rotting wood and snow... not where the Fuath's were?!"

* Ishu gulps

* Kenken shivers.

<Flora> "I'm going to peek over the edge."

<Bunny> "Yeah, but-"

<Ishu> "Wait!"

<Ishu> "We can peek, but we have to move at the same time."

<ST> ... and smoke.  You can smell smoke.

<Ishu> "We have to distribute the weight."

* Bunny shivers. And coughs at the rotting smell and smoke.

<Flora> "OK, distribute away as I  go to the edge to peek."

<Ishu> "We can treat it like four corners. Flora, you and Bunny are 
probably the lighest. You two can go to one side, KenKen, you should 
go opposite to them."

<Ishu> "I think Garland and I are the heaviest, we'll go to the other 
two corners."

* Garland nods, "Alright, ready?"

* Ishu nods "Yep."

<Flora> "ready."

<ST> Anyone with dex less than 4 OR athletics less than 4 will have 
to roll.

<ST> No, Flora.  Just the one is enough not to have to roll.  

* Flora gets there

* Ishu looks like he thinks he's had better ideas

<ST> dex +athletics diff 8.

* Bunny shakes a little. Looks around to see if people are watching 
her, then blows the horn again, though /tries/ to make it quiet. Of 
course, so far the horn has only one volume setting, it seems. REALLY 
LOUD.

<Kenken> [So, how about those two successes? Booyah!]

<Ishu> [2 successes! On 3 dice! :D ]

<ST> The horn blows really loudly.  Are any of you so startled you 
slide down?

<Ishu> [Concentrating!]

<Garland> [ALso concentrating! I have that, I think...]

<Flora> [Nope, my cat-like reflexes handle the startle easily.]

<ST> Kay, Ishu.  You too, Garland, and Flora.  What about you, KK?

<ST> Oh, what the heck, everyone roll wits plus alertness, difficulty

* Bunny looks around for the stag, hopefully.

* Ishu listens for sound of a battle, once he's steady on his knees

<ST> Whew.  Okay, guys, you've been watching Ishu use Willpower.

<Bunny> [She was going to blow it before people started moving, but 
I'll say she went to her courner then got the idea to blow it.]

<ST> Oh, and the reason you might want to spend a willpower point in 
a task is that it guarantees you ONE success.

<ST> Okay, so when you blow the horn the stag suddenly appears again, 
beside your umbrella.

<ST> Flora, you see a dreary wintry scene, with smoke trickling up at 
the edge of a forest grove.

<ST> [stag] "Thank you, Bunny."  

* Bunny blinks, then YAYS! "You're okay!!"

<Flora> There's some fire at the edge of a forest, down below."

<Ishu> "Are we going to hit it, Flora?"

* Bunny would hug the stag, but afraid of falling out of the 
umbrella.

<ST> "They would have destroyed me utterly.  But now we must get 
away.  The Fomorians have many spells we know nothing of.  Give me 
your rope, and I will pull you where you need to go.  The fuaths in 
that fire are all dead.  Only redcaps and Queen Lyr's men are there.  
You must go."

<Flora> "we could adjust our weight to head to the gro.... oh. Ok."

<Ishu> "I don't have the best balance... can someone get the rope to 
the Stag?"

<Flora> Kenken..

<Flora> can

<Garland> "I could do it.... or..." Glances to KK when his name is 
mentioned.

<Garland> "I'll do it!"

<Flora> "I'll keep watch, as the bad guys were flying, before, I 
think."

<ST> You've all seen what each other can do.  Good, Garland.

<Ishu> "The Redcaps fly? o_O"

* Kenken looks about. Doesn't expected to be trusted with, like, 
anything now. :D

<ST> Okay, throw.  Dex + athletics, diff 6.

<Garland> [4 successes.]

* Flora watches around carefully, looking for signs we are noticed.

* Bunny makes a littke scared sound at the idea of flying redcaps.

<ST> Good work.  The stag takes it in his jaw and suddenly you are 
rising and putting on a bit of speed.  The wind blows hard and cold, 
and your eyes stream with icy sleet getting into them.

<Ishu> "It'll be okay, Bunny, I think the luck's officially with us 
today. :) "

* Garland squints hard against the cold.

* Kenken pats Bunny's shoulder comfortingly.

* Ishu pulls his hat down further

<Flora> [Ohhhh, Ishu.... did you have to say THAT!]

<ST> Suddenly...

<Ishu> [Yeah. 'Cause it's great. ^_^ What CAN'T we jinx? ;) ]

<Ishu> [See?]

* Bunny feels comforted with such strong and capable people around!

<ST> the umbrella begins to fold up.

<Ishu> "Um."

<Ishu> "Hit the button!"

* Ishu thinks about it

<Ishu> "We lost the button!"

<Flora> "Oh, my goodness!"

<ST> The stag keeps pulling.  It doesn't know you are in trouble.

<Garland> "Fantastic!"

* Ishu starts sliding against his will back towards the centre

<Kenken> "...well, let's get comfy and close!

<Flora> "Wait, Sir Stag, look at us!"

<ST> The umbrella folds up some more.

* Garland also starts sliding down, despite his better efforts.

* Flora hangs onto the edge

* Ishu puts his feet against the handle and starts pushing it open 
with his hands

* Bunny yells "Mister king Stag sir! Please wait a moment!"

<ST> Ishu, did you not say that once the umbrella folds up it is 
small?

* Flora hopes that her body at the edge will keep the umbrella from 
folding completely, and thereby preventing the shrinking.

<ST> [What's your legacy?

<ST> Flora?

<Ishu> [It does, but that's because it's got many layers... it's hard 
to explain without drawing. >.< Say, every two feet from the edge is 
another layer. They fold in like pleats.]

<Ishu> [An accordion!]

* Bunny tries to hold on tight, but is also holding on tightly to the 
horn.

<Flora> [I don't know yet, you gave me some games to figure it out.  
How about 'corageous self-sacrifice??]

* Ishu pulls out his staff and uses it to keep it open an extra five 
feet

<ST> Okay.  Write it on your sheet.  But no way you should be willing 
to DIE.  Doesn't fit her character.

* Kenken reaches in the handle and looks for whatever device it is 
the button would *press*, normally!

<ST> [the stag seems to have heard Bunny, and turns his head 
slightly.  That sets the half closed umbrella rocking.

<Kenken> [Yes. I know it broke off. There is some handle remaining. 
The button is not in empty air; it must press something *inside* the 
umbrella]

<Kenken> [KK is looking for that something to tinker with it to try 
to make it open again.]

<Ishu> "If anyone understands the innermost functions of an umbrella 
(!) now would be a good time!"

* Bunny SQUEAKS and holds on!

<Ishu> "There must be something the button hits inside the shaft!"

<ST> [KenKen is right.  The button is on the stub that remains of the 
handle.  It was the curved part that was around his neck and broke.

<Bunny> [Bunny is, sadly, a baking Boggan. Not a tinkering Boggan.]

<Ishu> [Can I try Int + investigation to understand how it works?]

* Kenken is looking for that part! To press!

<Garland> "Can you hit anything, KenKen??"

<Ishu> "Hit everything!"

* Kenken bang bang bang!

<ST> KK, IF you fell into the centre of the umbrella from the outside 
corner you will see a button to press.

* Kenken presses the button!

<Flora> "Start pressing things, Kenken, till you find the pressure 
point that opens her up!  Oh!! Oh dear!  *blush*"

<Ishu> "o_O"

<Ishu> "How old are you again, Flora?"

* Ishu the thirty-something year old raises an eyebrow

<Flora> "Old enough to know how how that sounded!!"

<Ishu> "Right. ;) "

<Garland> "I'd be more amused if I wasn't about to die in an 
umbrella!"

<ST> The umbrella opens up again.  One spoke is bent.  There are some 
seams that don't look  very healthy.

* Bunny is blinking at Flora with wide eyes.

<Garland> "... NOW I'm amused." Relaxes a little, but still looks 
skeptical of this contraption.

<Ishu> "Ehheehh... Are we far, King Stag?"

* Kenken sits by the button and stays there.

<Ishu> "I'm afraid this umbrella may not carry us much further."

<Garland> "If I had a nickel for every time..."

<Bunny> [...I'm guessing Bunny can't 'field dress' the seams?]

<ST> "Sing," whispers a voice in your head.  The stag sounds faint, 
not very well.  "Please sing."

<Garland> "Lord Stag! How much farther is there to go?"

<Ishu> "Somewhere, over the rainbow....!"

<Ishu> "Way up high!"

* Garland blinks, then starts up singing.

<Ishu> "There's a place that I..."

* Flora sings an old irish ballad oabout hope in rough times

* Garland then switches to the same song as Ishu.

* Flora switches to the group choice

<ST> Bunny, you always get the patching jobs in the kitchen when bags 
split, but do you have a needle and thread?

<ST> Yay, Bunny!

<ST> Roll dex +crafts, can't botch.

<ST> It is getting warmer.  Bunny, are you near the top?

<ST> You fixed the bottom and the middle.

<Kenken> "Wheeere troubles melt like lemon drops away above the 
chimney tops that's where! You'll! FiIIIIIiiindme!"

<ST> Lemon drops begin falling into the umbrella.

<Bunny> [Yep! Just got 1 success for the top.]

[<ST> Bunny, you see beyond the rainbow to a place that looks simply 
gorgeous to you.  It is a castle, no, a Palace!  It seems the most 
beautiful house you have ever seen.]

<Ishu> "Somewhere over the rainbow

<Ishu> Skies are blue,

<Ishu> [Starts putting his Eshu performance into it!]

<ST> Do you wish to look over, Bunny?

<ST> Oh, yeah, baby, and Garland's a showgirl.  I mean showman.

* Bunny takes a moment to peek over, yes.

* Garland is hit with lemon drops, but keeps up his singing... 
showMAN style.

<Ishu> [A Show manly-man! ;) ]

<Flora> [the truth is out, G-man!]

<Garland> [Until this moment... he was but a show-boy.]

* Bunny woooooows, quietly.

* Garland picks up the main tune as Ishu eats.

* Ishu grins appreciatively, then resumes once he's done snacking. 
They were just too good to pass up!

* Flora tries to see, too.

<Bunny> "The palace!"

<Ishu> "A palace? :D"

<Ishu> "Is it green?"

* Garland laughs at Ishu, then looks over to Bunny.

* Kenken peers over, laughing!

<ST> It is a splendid fortress with pale, almost translucen-tlooking 
walls.  They reflect the changing colours of lake, sky and mountain 
and rainbow...

* Ishu can't resist sneaking a peak

<Ishu> "... Wow!"

* Garland also attempts a quick look.

<Flora> "Holy Wow!"

<Ishu> "That too! ^_^"

<Garland> "... Dang."

* Kenken whistles.

* Bunny also puts a couple lemondrops in her apron. For safekeeping.

<Flora> "What IS that place?"

<Bunny> "..pretty?"

<Ishu> "I'm with Bunny on that one..."

<ST> It reminds you of France, somehow, except the mountains have a 
Catskill like appearance.  Here and there are some rather decrepit 
looking hotels, an ashram...

<Ishu> "I'm guessing it's where the Wizard lives?"

<Flora> [ST, any lemondrops near me?]

<ST> Placed atop a rise in the centre of a small mountain lake, the 
fortress, protected by its moat and reachable only via a stone 
causeway, seems like a castle out of legend.  Pennants hang, however, 
in shreds from the turrets.  Surrounding the palace are formal 
gardens and a large field where...

<ST> ... you could imagine Sidhe training with swords and horses or 
even jousting.  It is full of weeds, and the flowers are unkempt.

<ST> Five lemondrops near you, Flora.

<Garland> "Doesn't look very lived in..."

* Flora eats a lemondrop, and saves the rest

<ST> Anybody got kenning?

* Garland nicks lemon drop and eats it thoughtfully as he watches the 
castle.

<Ishu> [Yep!]

<Garland> [Yup!]

that are around him.

<Flora> [Kenken can ken, cannily.  Bunny can can, cunningly.]

<ST> Woo.

* Kenken points at tha palace. "It's like a giant gumdrop!"

<ST> Bunny, your box.

[<ST> "Not enough, little childling. My glamour is almost gone.  I 
must not die until I see you safely on the quest for the leaf.  You 
must get it, childling."]

<Ishu> "Um."

* Garland furrows his brow over at KK. "... how do you figure?"

<Ishu> "Maybe it sparkles? o_O"

<Ishu> "The gardens are interesting, though... if they're still 
'formal' in any way, they can't have gone without being attended for 
long."

<Ishu> ["Eat the castle!" "Nooo! Don't eat the castle!" "EAT THE 
CASTLE." :D!]

* Garland directs his attention over to the gardens.

<Garland> [Licking the walls? ... "The snozzberries taste like 
snozzberries!"]

<ST> It's happening again.

<Kenken> "Because it's like the gumdrops, but MORE so..."

* Bunny waves her arms! She looks around, panicky, then starts 
singing! "Somewhere, over the rainbow, blue birds fly! Birds fly over 
the rainbow-" she pauses, trying to remember the next line.

* Bunny doesn't know what to do, but the singing helped before!

* Ishu cringes, not liking the next line

<Flora> "Why, oh, why can't I?"

<Ishu> "So why, oh why can't I----?"

* Ishu cringes again, expecting to drop like a rock

* Bunny remembers now! "Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up 
where the clouds are far behind me!"

* Bunny has never seen the movie, yes, but who HASN'T heard that 
song?

<ST> Your box Garland.

[<ST> That's good enough.  You saw Bunny look terribly concernedly at 
the stag, and suddenly burst into frantic song.  

<ST> You remember that dross is portable glamour.]

<Ishu> "Where troubles melt like lemondrops

<Ishu> "Away above the chimney tops..."

* Ishu scans the sky as he sings, hoping for a star to start wishing 
upon!

<Kenken> "...Let's go fly a kite! Up to the highest height! Let's go 
fly a kite and send it soaring!"

<ST> [Fair enough, Bunny.  See your box.]

<Flora> "Say, isn't this castle a bit like the one belonging to the 
Wicked Witch of the West?"

* Bunny sniffles! "We need to sing more!! Everyone! The stag needs 
more glamour and we have to help otherwise he'll die!"

<Ishu> "OK!"

<Ishu> "In unison, guys!"

* Garland blinks a little at KK, but keeps singing Over the Rainbow. 
"Bluebiiiirds flyyyy...!!"

<Ishu> "Somewhere over the rainbow

<Flora> [unison]

<Ishu> "Way up high..."

* Garland attempts to catch up with the others, to fall into place 
with them. He's got a good loud voice on 'im too.

<Ishu> "There's a land that I heard of

<Kenken> "Give him lemon drops!"

* Bunny sings as best she can! ...Even if she sometimes messes up 
words.

<Kenken> "Once in a lullabye!"

<Ishu> "Once in a lullabye..."

<ST> Slowly, the stag is sinking.

* Bunny grabs a handfull of lemon drops and tries to get as close to 
the stag as she can!

* Flora sings with heartfelt belief

* Ishu starts singing more loudly, adding in his Performance

* Bunny is determined to save the stag. He has to be okay!

<ST> No, I have no box at all from you, Ishu.

* Garland looks over to Bunny, moving over to help her reach the stag 
if needed!

<Ishu> "Somewhere over the rainbow

<ST> The umbrella teeters.

<Ishu> "Skies are blue!"

* Flora tries to keep the umbrella balanced as all this shifting 
about happens

<Ishu> "And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true!"

<Bunny> "Mister King Stag sir! The lemon drops! If you eat some, 
you'll be okay again!"

<Ishu> "Some day I'll WISH UPON A STAR"

* Bunny holds them out, reaching as far as she can. Fully believes 
this! After all, Kenken suggested it, and he HAS to be right.

<Flora> "Oh yeah. the lemon drops are our dream stuff!  I get it 
now!!"

<Garland> Still singing, trying to make his weight as even as 
possible.

<Ishu> "And wake up where the clouds are far behind me...!"

<ST> The stag turns his head tiredly.  "The rope..." you hear in your 
mind.

<Ishu> [Where is the rope? It's still around him, right?]

<ST> [No, it's in his mouth.]

<Kenken> "Tie it to his horns and feed him lemon drops! I DUNNO!"

* Garland reaches out to pull them closer to the stag, using the 
rope.

* Ishu nods frantically

<ST> All good ideas.

<Ishu> "Where troubles melt like lemondrops..."

* Ishu reaches to touch the stag

* Bunny looks up to Garland to move the rope. She has the lemon drops 
and the horn to carry, she can't move the rope.

* Flora keeps the umbrella steady.

* Ishu the blue light goes towards the Stag

* Garland grabs the rope with one hand, taking it out of his mouth.

<Flora> "NO!  Tie with the loose hanging rope FIRST!"

<ST> The umbrella starts to fall.

<ST> slowly.

* Ishu groans with exhaustion

* Bunny gives the Stag the lemon drops quickly

<Garland> "WELL GODDAMN!" 

<ST> What?

<Ishu> "Anyone know 'Fly like an Eagle'?"

* Flora keeps shifting to compensate

* Ishu starts singing "I'm going to fly like an eagle" while throwing 
his coins again.

* Garland attempts to get the rope wound about the stag's antlers 
before he moves too far away.

* Ishu continues to sing while staring at the set of coin's he's 
thrown into his hand

<Garland> [I don't have time to lasso nothing!]

* Ishu starts tiredly scribbling a symbol in the air.

<Ishu> "I'm going to fly like an eagle..."

character in the air...]

<ST> It is actually five turns, which is 5 4 second segments, if I 
remember correctly, which is 20 seconds, Sorry.

<ST> This is no ordinary chimera. So it is fae 4.

<Ishu> [So I have enough to cast it on Bunny, but not the Stag.]

<ST> Yep.

<Ishu> [Can I invoke Scene?]

<ST> You could, but it will increase the difficulty and only cover 
those in the area you have.

<ST> What's your scene?

<ST> I.E. how many pips do you have in the scene realm?

<Ishu> Scene 1

<Ishu> [So it would hit... Bunny and... who's with Bunny? Flora or 
Garland?]

<Kenken> [Someone was closer, Garland I think.]

* Flora was with bunny, till she started sewing.

<Ishu> So 1 extra difficulty to add Garland.

<Ishu> 1 extra difficulty for Scene, but I have Scene affinity, so no 
net change.

<Ishu> 1 extra Glamour to use scene.

<ST> Yep. was getting to glamour cost.

<ST> 0 for chimerical spell.  1 for each person after the first.  1 
to use Scene at all.  Glamour Cost is 2.

<Ishu> [Lemondrops are good. ^^;; ]

<Ishu> [Burns lemondrops around him. Those are... um... 
whatchamacallits, right?]

<Ishu> [He can burn one or two of those for Glamour, right? That's 
what they are?]

<ST> Roll.  All your intelligence (that's soothsay, right?) + all 
your pips in fae difficulty is 4, glamour cost is 2, willpower is 
one, guarantees one success, roll.

<Ishu> 8 successes.

<ST> Divide by two.

<Ishu> 4 each.

<ST> Stilll pretty damn nice.  Private box.

* Flora having figured out what Ishu is doing, looks to see where she 
will have to scuttle to balance the umbrella when their combined 
weight lifts off.

* Ishu falls unconcious

* Garland blinks back at Ishu as he goes unconcious.

<ST> Suddenly, Bunny, it seems all so easy.  You just reach your hand 
out and Garland puts a lemon drop in it and you put it in the stag's 
mouth.  You can do this over and over.  Garland, you collected about 
how many lemon drops?  And you can reach them even though you're 
holding that rope with one hand.  Lady Luck is smiling.

<Flora> "Are we in the kind of situation that applied back at that 
blue guy's place, where Glamour gets drained when you try to cast a 
cantrip?"

<ST> Looks like it.

<ST> Or maybe not.

<Garland> [How many did I collect? ... however many he could've 
grabbed.  7 or so?]

<ST> There is always a glamour cost to casting a cantrip.

<ST> Okay.  So you can give seven, Garland.

<Ishu> [And Grumps don't have much to begin with. ^^;; ]

<Kenken> [Ishu's still on the umbrella, though, right? *g*]

<ST> I know.  Collect that dross, from now on!  Don't use it till you 
need to.

* Garland hands over the lemon drops to Bunny!

<ST> Yes, KK.  HE's a graceful heap on the spines of the umbrella.

<Ishu> [With his tilly hat fallen over his eyes! :) ]

* Bunny puts the lemon drops in the stag's mouth!

<Kenken> [Your ride is out of time. Insert twenty five cents to 
continue.

<ST> Right.  The stag gets stronger and stronger.  It casts a 
grateful eye at all of you in the umbrella, lingering over the 
unconscious Ishu.  "I can land you safely now.  Then I must leave.  
the Unicorn doesn't like me."

<Garland> "Thank you, thank you very much, sir..."

<Flora> "Unicorn??"

* Bunny lets out a sigh of relief, hugging the stag quickly. "I'm 
glad you're okay!"

<ST> You land with a very gentle thud in the overgrown gardens.  The 
stag bends his head to Garland, asking mentally to be freed of the 
rope.

* Garland goes about undoing the rope from the Stag's antlers.

<Kenken> "Thank you, Lord of Beasts.

<Flora> "Thank you for all your help!"

<ST> "You are all very kind and good people.  I wish you success in 
the quest.  The Tuathans could not have asked for better."  And then 
the stag leaps into the sky and flies away.

* Bunny waves!!

* Garland watches him fly off, then looks down at the rope. He begins 
winding it up again.
